Marriage is a Sunnatullah that generally applies to all God's creatures, both humans, animals and plants. For humans, marriage is a way chosen by God as a way of continuing offspring and preserving life after each partner is ready to play a positive role in realizing the goals of the marriage. In language, kafaah comes from the original word al-kufu, which means almusawi, namely balance. Kafaah means similar, balanced, compatible. Kafaah in marriage means balance or harmony between the prospective husband and wife so that each candidate does not find it difficult to get married. This research is a type of field research (Field Research), which is a research or investigation in which researchers go directly to the field to look for evidence to get closer to the truth. This study uses a qualitative method using a phenomenological approach, namely trying to understand and understand the meaning of events and their relation to ordinary people in certain situations. Kafaah in marriage plays a role in forming a sakinah family, kafaah can also save a marriage from cracks caused by differences between two partners. From several marriages in the community, many have similarities with their partners. Many households live in harmony, if there is a dispute it may just be due to a misunderstanding so that it does not reach the divorce stage. The people in Jekulo sub-district generally have an understanding of kafaah in marriage, in practice many of them apply the kafaah standard found in the hadiths. prophets or have many considerations before choosing or determining a potential partner, but not a few of them do not apply kafaah marriage, they choose partners based on consensual consent.
